This guide will walk newcomers to modding through the steps necessary to find, download, and install our mod manager Vortex as well as the following mods for Skyrim Special Edition:. These mods were selected to give you a good modding foundation and in order to convey some basic knowledge regarding Skyrim modding. Once Vortex is installed, there are a few steps to be taken in order to set it up to manage and download mods for Skyrim Special Edition. There are also some things that you might optionally want to customise to your liking. Once installed, start up Vortex via the shortcut on your Desktop. Enabling all of those will not cause harm, but it is up to you to decide whether you want those additional features in your game. To start I was not able to install it into MO for some reason. I got around that by installing it with NMM. This worked fine and everything ran normally. Last week I ran into a major problem with none of my saves being able to load because of a mannequin activation error. I got around it with ssme and that's when the problems started. MCM will not list any mods in it even though they all seem to work and are currently active. Some of the mods are frostfall, better vampires, minty lightning and moonpath. I did some tweaking and on a reload I get all the prompts of everything in MCM starting for the first time. Also my character is naked and missing her head and all my equipment or followers from mods are missing as well. The screen also flickers and dims repeatedly too. I played with the settings and found that for the game to work I need skyui installed through NMM , have it checked in the Install pane and unchecked in the active mods window. This has been tested with the latest build with the Update A2. The A3 update will cause the Creation Kit CK to report that it is not working and close and the latest version of Fallout 4. As always this worked for me and your mileage may vary. As MO2 is still in Beta and there are numerous problems still being worked on. The two problems I have encountered, one is that the CK will not load at all, this is not a MO2 problem at all, and once it is run, saving will result in a hung not responding CK and the user must terminate the CK manually and lose all work done. I would highly suggest that if you are doing a complex mod to do it in the vanilla environment. Problem one, as I stated earlier is not a MO2 problem and is included here to help others, as it can manifest in the vanilla environment also under certain conditions. Especially if the user has installed optional DLLs in the games root folder. So, for every session you want to run the CK you just must rename dxgi. Problem two, not saving from the CK. Copy, not move, MOD-Name. Start the CK and make changes until you are ready to save. When you are finished save your modified mod. It will now be saved to the Overwrite folder. Your mod will be copied to the back to the original mod. The Overwrite folder should now be empty. You can also use a blank ESP to do this. This will make the actions in the last step work for us. Start MO2 and the CK and open the mod to converted, as described above, making it the active mod. Click the dialogs until no more show up. No need to do anything else in the CK so close it now. Your mod will be copied back to the original mod leaving the Overwrite folder empty. With this folder structure present in the Data folder MCM mods will now show up in game. I also had some problems with Transfer Settlements mod not saving Blueprints. When present in the vanilla game settlement blueprints will now save in game. When testing this without the folder structure present the Transfer Settlements would complete without any mod added ESPs being listed. When using a controller I just have to button press over and over until every item is moved, or hit X to move every item in my inventory or in the container at once. I don't know what else would interfere with iNeed. Mod does not change vanilla records, so something in your game is likely causing a problem. I am not iNeed expert either. I have tested it few times, but always went back to RND. You could share your load order here, so peoples with more knowledge about it can take a look at it, or ask help directly from iNeed support forum. The mod works fine, and the author may have been dissapointed when paid mods were removed, but he has since released the updates for free with additional performance updates since then as well, so the mod isn't the issue here. It also works fine with either 4. Make sure you are using the latest version of iNeed and check and see if it shows up properly on a brand new game. Not an existing save file, not even a save that hasn't had mods before, brand new from the menu. If it shows up then then you can say that the mod copy you have is fine, its something in your save file or your system. I tried to search all of them. Some of them seem to be very old? One thing I did notice is that the load order was not sorted properly. That is the only thing that jumps out from this list. I recommend running LOOT. It may not fix your problem, because there is a change that your saved game has bugged scripts conflicting there. Skyrim bakes script data to save files, so it is possible that it would be wisest to start a new game after running LOOT in any case. However, there is a change that proper load order will fix this for you. We have just had plenty of discussions about save bloat caused by bugged quests and uncleaned entries in vanilla game - as addition of other problems fixed in those patches. My suspicion was what I said: wrong load order may have bugged scripts for that save, where the MCM does not appear. Fixing the load order may or may not set scripts straight and allow it to appear there. Wrong load order also risks bugging out new game, so it is worth of sorting out. Well it has been a while since the last post Apparently if you open the MCM while iNeeds is installing it causes it to glitch. You're half way there already with MO2. One of those is VRIK, and it's working overall perfect, but the holsters doesen't work. Also turn off any anti-viruses from looking in your Skyrim folder.
